Pertaining to mental illness/disorder, how does your solution empower patients and communities, by growing education and awareness, debunking stigma and driving early diagnosis leading to proactive care?

Sanofi and AfricArena are looking for startups...
1. operating anywhere in Africa
2. that have a tested prototype of the product/service/platform that addresses the problem statement
3. Innovative in utilizing technology to address the problem statement
mission
Stigma and lack of awareness around mental health disease and related symptoms often result in patients not seeking help, not only in South Africa but around the world. In our local context this is exacerbated by limited resources in the healthcare sector as well as education and awareness of those suffering with mental health disease.
This may lead to tragedy before the patient seeks help or loved ones become aware.
Sanofi’s challenge to African start-ups is: How do we empower patients and communities, by growing education and awareness, debunking stigma and driving early diagnosis leading to proactive care?
Submission Requirements
GEOGRAPHIC AREA
This challenge is open to startups incorporated and operating in ANY African country.
MATURITY CRITERIA
1. Innovative solution or service
2. Less than 5 years of existence
3. Early-stage // Seed-stage company
4. That have a tested prototype of the product/service/platform that addresses the problem statement

Required format:
Deck pitch: 8 slides max (ppt, pdf) - MAX 50 Megabytes
Last day of submission: 25th of September 2019
12 start-ups will be shortlisted after the last day of submission - of which 3 will be selected to showcase at AfricArena Summit 2019.
